In memoriam of a history that many of our elders are not so far removed from, and in celebration of a present and a future yet to be seen, the ACLU of Mississippi is hosting its first "Black History 365" open mic night to celebrate Black History and the progress of Black civil rights movements in Mississippi.
We are inviting community members to share a testimony, poem, song, or other presentation about how Black history has affected, and still continues to affect, them. Join us Wednesday, March 22 to celebrate and uplift Black voices! Catering will be provided by Meals that Heal and Wingstop.
Presentations will be limited to no more than 10 minutes per person, and may be extended or limited depending on the number of showcases.
