International Transgender Day of Visibility is March 31, 2021. To mark the occasion, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Mississippi’s Transgender Education and Advocacy Program (TEAP) and Human Rights Campaign (HRC) of Mississippi will host the fourth annual Transgender Day of Visibility beautification project at Fondren Park on March 28, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. The event will be live-streamed on Facebook for the public.
International Transgender Day of Visibility is an opportunity for trans individuals to remember the importance of being seen, and recognize the crucial role visibility plays in changing widespread attitudes, relationships and lives.
This year’s event will feature a special dedication to Dominique Jackson, a transgender woman who was murdered on January 25th in Jackson.
